Tantra, also known as Saundra L. Williams, spoken word artist and performance poet, is the author of "alifepoeminprogress" by Pauline Publishing - A Spoken Word Black Press, New York. She is featured on spoken word CD's such as "Selling My Diamonds" by Precious Gift, Blu Magazine's spoken word compilation (2001) and Canhead Record's "Urban Avant Garde - Live @ The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe." She is the host of her own spoken word series, WORDSPACE and has performed to standing room audiences at venues as far away as London and Germany while wowing audiences closer to home in the tri-state area of New York City. Tantra has performed her original work in off Broadway plays such as "An Evolution In Reinvention" and "Leaving My Apartment and Other Urban Adventures." She appeared at the Brooklyn Museum's First Saturday project and the Bric. Tantra was honored by the Kings County District's Attorney's Office during Women's History Month in March 2001 for her artistic contributions to the borough of Brooklyn. Tantra has made several appearances on cable television and local/satellite radio shows. Her poetry was featured in the October 2004 issue of Essence Magazine and in spoken word publications such as Redeye and Spoken Vizions.
